Stats: 1 In-person Behavioural Session
Bailey had one of the best homes with the most dedicated people. On paper, her situation could have been challenging. Bailey, a Chihuahua, German Shepherd, and Belgian Malinois mix, lived in a flat with her adopters after being rescued from Romania. Not only was Bailey their first dog, but living in a flat also presented its own unique challenges.
Living in a flat can be hard with a dog, but I’m a strong believer that you can make anything work if you care enough, and rescue dogs need amazing people to support and guide them more than they need their own garden.
Bailey’s adopters had already learned a lot about dogs and grown their understanding massively in order to give Bailey the best life possible. She was in excellent hands.
Bailey was people-reactive, and this was problematic in the stairwell of the flats. She wasn’t very big, but had a scary bark.
By looking at her breeding and what drives Bailey, we were able to create the perfect technique to do two main things:
Stop her barking in that moment
Improve her confidence long-term
The methods I use are always based around building a rescue dog’s confidence. We want a happy dog, never a scared one. Confidence reduces reactivity.
This technique was the key her adopters needed and with the personalised Behavioural Plan I sent them after our session, they were able to continue the progress on their own.
Myth: Dog trainers & behaviourists are expensive
If one session could change your life, behavioural work with your dog doesn’t have to be expensive. I can guide you towards extra learning, such as the Raising My Rescue Dog Club, to prepare you for your session in an affordable way.
Dog Club members get a discount on their session too - it’s a win-win!
